Humidity Indicator Card Humidity Indicator Cards allows a low cost method of indicating humidity conditions inside sealed packaging. ncluding MIL Spec (MIL-I-8835) applications. These cards are impregnated with a moisture-sensitive chemical that changes colour when the indicated relative humidity level is exceeded. This indicator is often used together with a desiccant sachet and a moisture barrier bag when shipping electronic components.
Two types of Humidity Indicator Cards are available; Cobalt Free and Cobalt Dichloride Free.

Humidity Indicator Plug

Humidity Indicator Plugs are designed for mounting in moisture sensitive electronic or electro-optic equipment, or any other humidity controlled enclosure. They readily detect changes in the humidity of the space being monitored by using a colour change indicator paper which turns from blue to pink as the humidity increases, and turns back to blue when the humidity decreases. The indicator solution used is water soluble and therefore humidity indicator papers should not be placed in direct contact with water or steam or exposed to extremely high humidity's for protracted periods of time. Also strong solvents such as ammonia fumes will cause the bleaching of the colour change dye and lose colour reversibility.
Most of these indicators can be fitted with a desiccant cartridge which will adsorb any moisture entering the equipment during its use. These are known as static desiccators.

They readily detect changes in the humidity of the space being monitored by using a colour change indicator paper which turns from blue to pink as the humidity increases, and turns back to blue when the humidity decreases.

For additional desiccant protection we suggest using a desiccant port and silica gel or molecular sieve desiccant bag.

Combining an Humidity Indicator and Relief Valve have the advantage of only require one hole to be fitted to equipment or containers where space is limited. They are designed for mounting in moisture sensitive electronic or electro-optic equipment, or any other humidity controlled enclosure that will be subjected to air transportation. They readily detect changes in the humidity of the space being monitored by using a colour change indicator paper which turns from blue to pink as the humidity increases, and turns back to blue when the humidity decreases.

Electronic Relative Humidity Indicator

Traditional humidity indicator papers rely on a distinctive colour change usually from blue to pink to signify a dry to wet humidity change. The humidity indication range for paper indicators is from 10% to 70% relative humidity although this must be specified at an ambient temperature and tolerance range.

The new Electronic Humidity uses a polymer humidity sensor combined with temperature sensor to provide a digital display reading of relative humidity, ambient temperature and dewpoint.

Dewpoint indicates the temperature to which the system or instrument can be cooled before condensation (or frost) will occur. This qualifies dewpoint as a quality control standard for specify an operating performance for systems and instruments.

The Electronic Indicator is mounted in a robust IP67 enclosure with membrane press switch to activate the three readings in sequence. Optional thread mounting or bulkhead flange fixing is available.

The operational battery life is typically 5 years.

Plastic
Using a certain technology to combine precise amounts of desiccant with polymer to produce rigid packaging with built-in moisture protection. This moisture protective packaging is ideal for pharmaceutical, diagnostic, and various other applications.

Paper
Available in almost any shape or sizes. It can be cut accordingly and contoured to reach inaccessible spaces. It can also serve as an insulator or fixture, providing a uniform environment for complete moisture control. Paper Desiccant has packaging applications in photographic films, cryogenic pumps, dried foods, pharmaceuticals, electronic components, instruments, and spare parts.

Canister
Canister Desiccant is silica filled into a cylindrical-shaped plastic housing with a ventilated card covering the top. A range of canister size is available to easily accommodate most bottle sizes. It is the most widely accepted desiccant form used in the pharmaceutical industry.

Art Sorb
It is a moisture-sensitive silica material which absorbs and desorbs moisture in order to offset changes in relative humidity. In the range of 40 – 70% RH, it has over five times the moisture buffering capacity of regular Silica Gel. Art Sorb is a highly efficient humidity control agent for the conservation of art. It will protect your heritage for future generations.

Moisture Adsorbing Polymers
Moisture Adsorbing Polymers are an alternative to conventional desiccants in sachet or other forms. It is engineered from the combination of polymers and adsorbent desiccants, allowing it to adsorb moisture, odours, and organic volatiles. It can be moulded and machined to suit applications where a desiccant is required to fit the available space that has a complex shape. The polymer can be readily fixed in place, using screw fasteners, adhesives or other mechanical retention methods. Low cost prototypes are available and it can be produced in low or high volume quantities. Typical applications include electronic, electrical, optical, telecommunications equipment, and packaging.

Moisture Adsorbing Board
Moisture Adsorbing Board is a practical alternative to conventional desiccant bags for applications where space is limited. The narrow thickness of the board allows it to access apertures which would be inaccessible to desiccant bags. Moisture Adsorbing Board can be cut to any size for easy installation and fixing. Moisture Adsorbing Board is available in a standard sheet size of 295mm x 205mm x 1.6mm or can be cut, punched or formed to meet customer's specific requirements.
