Vent Dryers

Many fluids, semi-solids and powders can be seriously contaminated by moisture and process by products. Most materials stored in tanks or drums which are either located in the open and vented to atmosphere or are located in the process area can be affected by materials used in the same area. The level of damage varies from rendering the material useless to the lowering of efficiency and consequently the product value. Moisture, in the form of water vapour is the prime source of contamination and will cause simple dilution of acids, an increase in the corrositivity of oils and other fluids, fungal and biological activity in materials such as glycerol or the lowering of electrical resistance of transformer oils and similar materials. A range of reservoir vent dryers, tank vent dryers and pipeline dryers can be provided to ensure a high level of protection to a wide range of materials.


Wall Mounted Tank Vent Dryers

These standard Tank Vent Dryers are filled with Envirogel desiccant for the removal of water vapour. Alternative types of adsorbents are available to remove other harmful contaminates other than water vapour. Three sizes of wall mounted dryers are available to handle different storage tank capacities and discharge rates.

All three dryers have a removable desiccant container which allows the desiccant to be changed without breaking the breather pipe connection. The desiccant container is secured below the mounting frame assembly and can be easily removed and refilled as required by releasing the retaining screws. The desiccant container has a UV stabilised polycarbonate clear window which allows for clear visibility of the desiccant charge and enables users to check the desiccant condition with ease.

Standard Tank Vent Dryers are fabricated from mild steel which is phosphated and powder coated to provide adequate defence against most industrial environments. Dryers that require extra protection from highly corrosive materials or environments are available in stainless steel. The option to change the window material from clear polycarbonate to glass is also available.

The models available are 605, 610, and 615.

Floor Mounted Tank Vent Dryers


Floor Mounted Tank Vent Dryers are filled with Envirogel desiccant for the removal of water vapour and provide protection for larger capacity storage tanks with higher discharge rates. Alternative types of adsorbents are available to remove other harmful contaminates other than water vapour. Two sizes of floor mounted dryers are available to handle different storage tank capacities and discharge rates.

Reservoir Vent Dryers:

Reservoir Vent Dryers have been developed to protect storage drums and tanks during use and operation. As fluid is drawn from the reservoir or the air above the fluid is displaced by temperature variations, the air entering the reservoir passes through an active bed of desiccant which removes and retains the water vapour. Three types of Reservoir Vent Dryers available, Industrial, Ultra Clean and Sentinel. The Industrial and Ultra Clean versions are filled with indicating silica gel and each type is available in two sizes for standard and heavy duty applications. Both dryers are fitted with filters to reduce any particulate contamination of the stored material when air is drawn into the reservoir through the dryer. The particulate cleanliness level of the Industrial and Ultra Clean dryers are approximately 25 microns and 0.5 micron respectively. Sentinel Dryers are filled with two adsorbents, indicating silica gel and activated carbon. The addition of activated carbon prevents the intake of hydrocarbons and stops unwanted exhaust vapours and odours being released into the work environment. Two sizes of Sentinel Dryers are available for standard and heavy duty applications, with a particulate cleanliness level of approximately 25 microns.

Adsormat

These standard Adsormats are filled with molecular sieve desiccant for the removal of water vapour. Alternative types of adsorbents are available to remove other harmful contaminates other than water vapour. Three sizes of wall mounted Adsormats are available to handle different storage tank capacities and discharge rates.

All three Adsormats have a removable desiccant container which allows the desiccant to be changed without breaking the breather pipe connection. The desiccant container is secured below the mounting frame assembly and can be easily removed and refilled as required by releasing the retaining screws. The desiccant container has a UV stabilised polycarbonate clear window with a humidity indicator card fitted. This allows the user to check the desiccant condition with ease. The indicator card changes from blue to pink as the desiccant material is saturated with moisture.

Pipeline Dryers

Brownell's range of Pipeline Dryers are primarily used for reducing the water vapour content to a safe level in compressed air or process gas pipelines. These dryers are suitable for small diameter pipelines, up to 10mm or 3/8", and working pressures up to 7 bar. Dryers are usually filled with either silica gel or molecular sieves desiccant for water vapour removal, but the use of different grades of molecular sieves desiccant can provide selective adsorption of other components.
